The RSTS/E V9 archive is a repository for the Digital Equipment Corporation's RSTS/E (Resource Sharing Time Sharing Extended) Operating system. If you are new to RSTS/E, a good place to start is the "Getting Started with RSTS/E " in the "How To..." page.

In the "Software" page you find a prebuilt disk image to get your system up and on the air quickly, and the "Manual" page has a fairly complete set of manuals documenting the system. For more advanced users, there is a "Install and Sysgen RSTS/E V9.6" on the "How To..." page to give you an idea of how to load the a system from the distribution tape images located on the "Software" page.

One of the first things you will want to do is to review the Licenses (especially the Mentec license) in the "Legal" page before you start playing with RSTS/E. Enjoy and Please remember to contribute your discoveries back to the Archive!
